He completed his MBBS from Madras Medical College in 1996 and earned the Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training in Cardiology in the UK. He completed a fellowship in Interventional Cardiology in Sheffield, UK, and served as a Clinical Lecturer in Cardiology at the University of Hull. Dr. Amal has performed over 15,000 cardiac interventions and has made notable contributions to research in heart failure and telecardiology.
